A Strategic Approach to Using Social Media for Sales & Marketing [Slides]
I gave the following presentation to the Greater Dallas NARPM Chapter where I shared strategies everyone, not just rental housing professionals, should consider prior to, and when using, social media. It was my first opportunity to present solo (eeeep!) and to mingle with single-housing property owners and managers.
The point I wanted to drive home with the audience was that before undertaking a journey into the social media universe, you need to create the center of YOUR universe. Professionals have a physical premise–whether it’s a home office, a regular office suite, or the trunk of your car–but in this day and age you have to create and manage your digital premises.
And the center of that digital universe is your company or apartment property website. There is no better place on the Internet to credibly talk about your properties or company —no Internet listing service, social media site, or blog—than your website. It’s your 24/7 store.
If the audience only came away with one point from today, it was the importance of their website.
While the presentation catered towards the beginner, there are potentially pointers and tactics for social media veterans that could improve your current social media strategy.
Let me know your thoughts in the comments below.

Great presentation today! It was apparent from the questions asked after your presentation that you sparked something in the minds of the audience.
