New Survey Reveals Impact of Bed Bugs on Everyday Life

A new survey from the National Pest Management Association (NPMA), says that one out of five Americans has had a bed bug infestation in their home or knows someone who has encountered bed bugs.

Bed Bugs in America,” examines the bed bug resurgence and how it’s impacting the lives of Americans. There were several survey highlights but the one that impacts our industry the most is this one:

Americans who have encountered bed bugs tend to be younger, live in urban areas and rent their homes. The incidence of bed bugs is three times higher in urban areas than in rural areas due to factors such as larger population size, apartment living and increased mobility, which are conducive to the rapid spread and breeding of bed bugs.

And bed bugs are willing inhabitants regardless of a home’s living conditions or person’s income level.

Check out the survey and share your thoughts in the comments below. Are you still hearing about or encountering bed bugs?
